Captus was founded by a senior commercial leader with over fifteen years working at the heart of Government and Defence procurement. That career began in Bid Management and Business Management at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence — one of the UK's leading Defence technology businesses — where a decade was spent understanding how major bids are constructed, why they succeed, and why they fail.
That foundation was built upon through a Solutions Director role at Mitie, one of the UK's largest facilities management and outsourcing businesses, selling complex solutions into Government and Defence clients. Sitting on the buyer-facing side of major procurement processes sharpened an already detailed understanding of what evaluators look for, how frameworks are navigated, and what strategic positioning actually means in practice.
Captus exists because too many capable suppliers underperform in bids not due to the quality of their solution, but due to the quality of their strategy. We exist to close that gap — for SMEs building their first framework position, for mid-tier suppliers trying to compete with the primes, and for any organisation that takes Government and Defence contracting seriously.
